A Health Festival Celebrating Back to School

The Infectious Diseases (ID) Alliance of Case Western Reserve University is a group of community health leaders and advocates, social scientists, doctors, and researchers dedicated to preventing infectious diseases in our Cleveland community. The ID Alliance has recently received funding from CWRU and the United Black Fund of Greater Cleveland to engage young people in creating their own sexual health awareness campaign. As a first step, they are co-sponsoring a Health Festival Celebrating Back to School with the Cleveland Department of Public Health and MetroHealth. The festival will be Saturday, August 20 from 10-2p.m. at J. Glen Smith Health Center (11100 St. Claire Ave., just east of E. 110th).

The ID Alliance is inviting you to join them at this family-friendly event. Services provided at the event include immunizations for kids; asthma screening; HIV, lead, or sickle cell testing; and "Ask a Doc." Other agencies (WellCare, CareSource, Cleveland fire and safety departments) will be present as well to answer questions and provide materials.

Stop by for food, face-painting, prizes, and most importantly to learn about health services available to you!
