HEPATITIS C
David Bobak, Benigno Rodriguez, and Donald Anthony are involved in relevant clinical and translational research projects relating to hepatitis C, as well as hepatitis C/HIV co-infection.
Interactive hepatitis C clinics comprised of Hepatologists and Infectious Diseases physicians are novel concepts. However, given the novel molecular diagnostics and new forms of treatment that are on the horizon, such collaborations are likely to become very important over the next decade.
The opportunity is available to come to the forefront of such interactive efforts. There are plans to recruit a hepatitis C virologist in this academic year jointly with the Department of Molecular Biology and Microbiology.
